About Keeping up with the Moys
Welcome to Keeping up with the Moys – a blog about our little adventures.
Hi! We are the Moys. We blog about our daily happenings, stuff we eat, funny things the girls say, and generally, keep our family and friends around the world updated on what’s going on in our lives. We also have a review blog – Recycle. Reuse. Reduce. Review. (A current theme over there is Food Trucks!)
Blog Beginnings
In 2004, xanga had been all the rage. Joyce hopped aboard the blogging train for the sake of keeping up with her Sunday School students who all had xanga blogs. It just so happened that right after starting the blog, we got engaged. I journaled some of our adventures as an engaged couple, as newlyweds, and then as new parents. Since that first blog post, things have changed a lot! We tried to keep a family website for awhile, but that was a lot of maintenance. So, we moved over here to wordpress. We are now a family of four, and have moved out of San Francisco to the other side of the Bay.
Joyce and Norm
We have been dating for 13 years, and married for 7 of those years! We met each other at church back when we were high school students. Norm is a financial systems analyst by trade, and musician by hobby. He sang and toured with the San Francisco Boys Chorus when he was younger. He also knows how to play acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, piano, drums, and other percussion instruments. Joyce is a business major turned PreK teacher turned stay-at-home mommy. She likes to dabble in a little bit of everything, from writing newsletters to crafting to trying out new recipes. We love going out to try new foods when we go out on our monthly date nights. Every now and then, a board game is fun too. π
Melody and Emily
Melody, our firstborn, is almost 6 years old (going on 30). She loves to sing, draw, and read. Her favorite books right now are Rainbow Fairies series, Cam Jansen mysteries, and Butterfly Meadow books. She has really been enjoying her gymnastics class this past year. Melody has a interest in learning ASL (American Sign Language), and is a fantastic big sister (and mini-mom) to her little sis. Emily is our favorite second born child. π She is 3 and not a baby anymore (we have to remind ourselves of this). She love to take care of her baby (doll) and loves to run. Two of her favorite foods are artichokes and ribs, but really, she’s a snacker. She can’t wait to take ballet and gymnastics like her big sister. Emily really enjoys doing down the super long slides at the playground. These two girls love to play pretend store/dentist/school/(you fill in the blank) with one another.
