Low-key week and full weekend. That was our week. Happy early 39th wedding anniversary to my awesome parents! The girls have to sing at a fall concert at church so we celebrated my parents’ anniversary and my sister and brother’s birthdays with a breakfast/brunch on Saturday. We also trekked out to 85 Degree Bakery for some yummy goodness! Always a good time! 🙂 And to top off the weekend, we took an unplanned trip to Moore’s Pumpkin Patch which was super fun. The girls LOVE the Super Slide for sure! It’s not the most fabulous pumpkin patch out there, but it is a tradition to go. I will be doing a post on this soon because I just took a peek of when we went in 2009…my babies!! :p

It was quite the week! I was able to get in some friends time on Sunday for a friend’s birthday. We enjoyed an afternoon in Berkeley eating at Tomate Cafe, browsing the shops, and eating overpriced ice cream. Skype meetings might not be notable for some of you, but if you know me, you know I’m not a fan of the phone, so this makes it noteworthy to put on our week’s highlights. 😝 And applying for our passports was an interesting experience. I can’t believe we are headed to Australia next year! And of course, how can we not end the week with a birthday party!? 😊 Elsa was there, so it had to be a great party!

This week was not our typical week. Can you believe we have lived in the East Bay for so long and have not been to Tilden Park? We met up with our Young Families group for a picnic lunch. It was a bit gloomy, but I’m glad we beat the crowd that would be arriving for the 75th(?) anniversary the following Sunday. We ended the week with the Brain Tumor Walk and a fun swim party for the girls’ friend. Whew! We were done and done…or at least, I was. :p If you are in the East Bay, Silliman Aquatic Center is the place to be. I loved that they had areas for all different swim levels.

We kicked off the week by celebrating my grandma’s birthday! It’s always fun to see family. It really takes me a whole week to recover from the weekends, so the usual stuff happened, and we packed in another full weekend with the girls heading to Dinner and a Movie at church, which was Frozen, and Norm and I heading to Tofu House for a much-needed date night. We went out early to Treasure Island for the 19th Kaiser Permanente Dragon Boat Festival to cheer on my BIL who was racing with On Lok. We saw a few people we knew, so that was a nice surprise. It was our first time there. It was super fun, but next time we know how to prepare. I heard there were about 200 teams and 3000 paddlers? Since it was on the way home, we stopped off in Jack London Square for the Eat Real Festival. I’m not sure why, but it seemed a bit different this year. I wasn’t particularly thrilled about any of the vendors or food trucks that were there. And there you have it, another week. 🙂

We had a week of many firsts, and it was exciting to see some of our friends again that we haven’t seen since school ended. Our church had an awesome Sunday of worship service at the park and then splitting up to do several service worship projects. More photos can be found on Facebook. It was so good to get back into the groove of a routine.

It was back-to-school week, and kicked it off with our traditional Sunday lunch at Ice Creamery. The girls always seemed to be surprised when we go even though we have been doing this since we started homeschooling 4 years ago! :p We celebrated 9 years of marriage this week. Woot! (15 years together!) We went to Simply Fondue in Livermore. It was our first time and we didn’t realize it is quite the event. We were there for a few hours! Everything was so good and we had a good time chatting without being interrupted by kiddos. Tip: Bring something warm to wear if you are going to Simply Fondue, it is cold inside! Our MOPS group hosted the Spark Leaders event for the MOPS group in Northern California. It was split into 2 smaller events this year. We had about 175ish mom leaders come to this event. It was super fun, but I wish we had more time to chat and connect. And we ended the week at the Golfland arcade and Genghix yumminess.
