I won My ABC Bible Verses from Do Not Depart. We actually have this book already. We used it when I did Raising Rock Stars curriculum with Melody. She memorized most of the verses before I did. I think we need a refresher though. =p Anyhow, it is probably a little much for little nephew right now, but I hope that he will learn to memorize Scripture soon too!

Katie from Do Not Depart challenges, inspires, and encourages us to get into the Word and hide it in our hearts. She started a challenge at the beginning of the month. I just got on board with that last week. I am stuck at verse 5 right now, but hopefully, I can get moving on another verse or two in the next few days as the month is halfway over already!

I won $100 American Express card from iVillage.

iVillage had a PBS Kids Summer Reading Challenge. For 30 weekdays, I got a daily email with ideas on keeping kids interested in reading during the summer. There was a Question of the Day in the message boards. All I had to do was answer the question each day. They had a random drawing for $100! I believe there were only about 15 participants, so I had a 1 in 15 chance of winning.

I won MadeOn‘s 3 Pack Dry Skin Care (1 Family-size lotion bar, 1 Pocket-size lotion bar, & 1 lip balm) from 1+1+1=1.

This is perfect for Melody because she has patches of dry skin from time to time. And I wash my hands A LOT. Norm has some foot thing, but I don’t want to ask him about that, and I don’t think you want to know, so we’ll just leave it at that.

I LOVE 1+1+1=1!!! Carisa has a TON of great ideas on teaching kids. I don’t even know what to say. Just go and check it out! You’ll fall in love with her youngest (she has 3 kids), Ladybug (who is 2 months older than Emily).

I have an online friend. Her name is Alicia. She lives on the other coast. She has a real-life friend (I need some of those!). Her name is Jodi. Jodi moved over to the better my coast. We’re now neighbors. Sorta. Her hubby works in SF. My hubby works in SF. Her kids are 4 (almost? this month?) and 2. My kids are 4 and 2. I think we’ll be great friends. And lucky for all 2? or 3? of our loyal readers, I snapped a quick photo of myself wearing the necklace before leaving for my brother’s basketball game yesterday. Bummer you can’t tell, but the necklace colors match the colors of the words on my white shirt. This was in Melody’s room. I’m slanted because one of my legs is longer than the other. No, seriously. I can’t explain the hand on the hip though. It just happened. See that photo in the frame on Melody’s dresser? She changes it to a new photo every month. =p

A fellow Company Girl, Michelle, was passing on a few books from her library, and I won 2 of them. The books I got were: Moms on the Move-Practical Solutions for Busy Lives (simple celebrations) and Blessings for a Mother’s Day by Ruth Bell Graham.

I Won: Pick & Draw

I found Homeschool Creations through 1+1+1=1. I actual “knew” Jolanthe from her other blog when she linked up for Company Girl Coffee over at Home Sanctuary. Homeschool Creations has lots of fun crafts for younger kids.

From Homeschool Creations I won a game called Pick & Draw. It is a very simple idea. You pick cards, draw what’s on there and you end up with a funny face. This was how Melody first started drawing faces and now she is drawing lots of different kinds of people.

I Won: …and a Happy New Year

So obviously, I won this awhile back. But at least I’m getting to it before this Christmas rolls around. =p

I can’t remember how I found this site, but I thought it would be neat to find a dad blogger to read his perspective of raising kids. Enter Idaho Dad. He is a homeschooling dad who just walked across England! From his blog I won a Christmas CD called “…and a Happy New Year”. It is different than the usual tunes that you normally hear during the holidays, so if you want something to rock out to during Christmas, check out the CD.
