Real Life Inspiration

HE skinny
by Joyce Moy

Well, we’re chatting about HelloExercise this month, and Kristi already stole my answer about what motivates me to get moving, so I couldn’t write about my motivation, so today I am sharing with you my inspiration. You might already know that I am Not a Runner (and this LINK too!), but I do like some of the 5 Minute Workouts that Patti posted earlier in the month.

I LOVE the encouragement that I get from lovely ladies like Candice Clem, Michelle Myers, and Mindy Lawhorne, as well as the wonderful #helloexercise FB group, but do you want to know my real inspiration? Jenni shared about Biblical inspiration to physical discipline, and I am printing those verses out right now, but my in real life inspiration is my classmate since 4th grade, Sarah. We haven’t seen each other for years, but I keep up with her on social media. Let me tell you, we are as different as can be.

To read more about why Sarah is an inspiration to me in my fitness journey, visit to read the remainder of THIS POST.

Who has inspired to you to move? Is it someone in your own community or an online fitness coach? We would love to hear about your inspiration!

You can’t do this discipline thing alone.

21 DAYS HEADER.003Welcome to our weekly book club challenge check-in! We’re currently reading 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life by Crystal Paine. Each one of your comments has motivated to press on even on days when I feel behind. Thank you for doing this 21 Days book club challenge with me.

Here is the remainder of our reading schedule:
October 14-18: Days 8-12
October 21-25: Days 13-17
October 28-31: Days 18-21

I don’t know about you, but around the halfway point in any challenge, I begin to get a little distracted. Well, friends, today is the halfway point of this book club challenge. How are you doing?

If you are beginning to feel that energy start to wane because you got behind one day and now you’re off track, or because you or a family member got sick, or because of whatever other reasons, you are not alone. Here’s what we need – we need cheerleaders!

To read more about how to work on being more disciplined, visit to read the remainder of THIS POST.

Are you seeing progress in forming your habit? Is the completion of your mega-project in sight? Who are your cheerleaders in having a more disciplined life? Please share with us in the comments, so we can celebrate with you!

Grace-Filled Community

Grace. What do you think of when you see or hear this word?

Grace. We say it before meals.

Grace. My daughter’s middle name. My friend’s name. She is very gracious, if you must know. 🙂

Grace. We sing about it in a lot of songs. Grace Flows Down, Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone), Your Grace is Enough, and many more.

I love that we are digging deeper into grace this month. In defining grace, Sarah pointed out that “grace isn’t a one-time gift you receive. Grace is a limitless flow of undeserved gifts…”

In the Bible, we see so many examples of grace. God showed grace to Noah, Abraham, Moses, Ruth, David, Samuel, Esther, and others. Jesus demonstrated grace to the apostles (John 13:1-7) even when He knew they would desert Him at the time He needed them most. And there are many more stories.

Who are you pouring your grace out on today?
