If you know me, you know I LOVE LOVE LOVE journaling! I don’t do it as much anymore, but I can’t pass by the journal section at Ross without taking a look at what they have! So what did the get my family for Christmas? Journals, of course!
If you have read One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, you know “Ann encourages you to make each day a holy experience, and to live life being alive to the blessings, the gifts, and the moments that God gives and invites you to embrace.” Melody and Emily have been tracking their gifts for 2 years now. I attempted it last year, and did not succeed. I had tried to write it out on the printable pages and I tried typing it out in my email and blogging, but it just didn’t work out. The girls also have a love for journals, so I figured that they can graduate from writing their gifts out on binder paper to some lovely journals. I found the perfect ones for each of us on Dayspring!!
I wanted to share this, so that we (Norm and I, because the girls have it down already) will stay accountable to tracking our gifts, the blessings of the daily things of life. And I also wanted to let you know that if you want to grow your attitude of gratitude, Dayspring is having a 30% off sale on their journals!! There are a lot to choose from, but these are the ones we have. Aren’t they great? Make sure to click on the link to see the pages too.
Make sure to check out some of the other wonderful things they have on sale for their After Christmas sale (up to 75% off cards, gifts, and decor!).
Our favorite Dayspring Christmas decor are on sale too:
Are you tracking 1000 gifts this year? How do you teach your kids to have an attitude of gratitude? Do you have any favorite Dayspring products? We would love to hear from you!
I looove journals, too. I always have to stop by the journals section when I’m in Barnes and Noble. I’ve thought about doing the 10,000 gifts but haven’t worked myself up to it. Looking forward to hearing about your experience.
Girl, Ross the best place to go for journals!…and kitchen items. I think the 1000 gifts works out to be 3 gifts a day with one day listing 4 gifts. We don’t really do the 1000 in one year, so just 1 gift/blessing a day for us….but collectively we will have 1400+ for the year. :p
I love journals too! It takes a lot of restraint from buying lots of them.
Last year, our family started off the year with writing what we were thankful for. After July, the kids kept doing it, but I had trouble. This year I hope to be more diligent. =)
Hillary, I know! What’s up with that?! The kids do better than we do. Hopefully, now that we all have journals and we are all doing it together before bed, it will work out. Get some journals from Dayspring. 😉 They really are lovely, and you can use them for years.
