31 Days in SF Bay: San Jose (South Bay)

This is Day 8 of our 31 Days in SF Bay series. To read all the posts in order, start with this post, then visit the Landing Page to see the outline for the whole series.

sfbaybannerMoving onto the South Bay, we are kicking it off with San Jose. There are so many interesting to do in SJ, but we have only done a few. We can’t wait to visit more places now that we know more people who live down there. 😉

Children’s Discovery Museum
We took Melody here when she was not even one yet. We went with the group that we met with at our pediatrician. This was before we started our albums, so you will have to wait to see photos from this. It is a great place for kids of all different ages. We were mainly in the infant/toddler “Crawl Space.” It was a nice quiet area with Boppys for nursing moms, and rocking chairs if I can recall correctly. I think there is also a nice grassy area for you to enjoy a picnic during lunchtime. We definitely plan to go back to visit soon.

SAP Center (formerly known as HP Pavilion)
Norm came here for a Sharks games with his cousin once. We also attended a huge concert with the youth group…we weren’t part of the youth group (since I was pregnant with Melody at the time already), we just decided to tag along. We are also planning a trip for Disney on Ice at the end of the month. 🙂

Cahill Park

This park has a great playground structure. The girls love coming here when they visit their uncle and auntie. There is a large grassy area to roam around. If you ever end up here, make sure to pay attention to parking signs. My guess is that most residents in the area and their guests come to this park, so they will have parking permits in that case. Otherwise, there are lots of great eateries and other little shops near this downtown San Jose park. You can see more photos HERE.

Emma Prusch Farm Park

The girls got to go to here when Norm and I attended a wedding. From the looks of the photos, the girls enjoyed the park/playground more than they did the farm part of it. :p I didn’t even know this huge open space existed in San Jose. You can see more photos HERE.

I will probably add photos later, but here are some restaurants that we enjoy in San Jose. We have written reviews of some of these restaurants, so they are linked up.

  • Bill’s Cafe
  • Old Spaghetti Factory
  • Pizza My Heart

Other places to visit… (I will link photos and such later on. Come back to visit!)

  • San Jose State University
  • Raging Waters

This is part of our 31 Days in SF Bay series.
