I’m trying to stay on track with reading aka keeping up with my bookworm status…so I’m going to put this out here to keep myself accountable to finishing these books soon. I might have one of them to give away… 😉
I’m reading…
Gone South by Meg Moseley – I realize that I read a lot more non-fiction these days, but I always need at least one fiction going. 🙂
Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain – Library tip: If there is a popular book you’d like to borrow from the library with a long wait list, request the Large Print copy. It will get to the ‘hold shelf’ quicker. You’re welcome.
Praying God’s Word for Your Life by Kathi Lipp – Kathi is awesome. I’m glad she’s local to me. Get her books. Stat! Or borrow them from me. 🙂
I’m still re-reading To Walk or Stay with the book club. Chapter 8 will be hosted here on our blog.
– Joyce
Thank you!
All sound very good. I’ve read one of Kathi’s books and can vouch for it being really good. I love my fellow bookworms!
Kacey, I just saw that you blog about reading today too. 🙂 I love Kathi. She’s very real too.
Hi Joyce, thanks for sending me your blog. I just don’t know where to start. I’m in “overwhelmed” mode (and not in a good way). My kids are 8,11, and 14 and I’ve been married 17 yrs but seem to be getting worse in my time and household management. :-(. Any advice/insight you can give me is much appreciated! Thank you!
God bless you!! By the way, my youngest daughter is named JOYCE! I can’t wait to tell her about you. She will be tickled pink.
Love, Bopha Cobarrubias
Hi Bopha. Thanks for stopping by our blog. I’m not sure if I will be the best help in time and household management, but it is something I am working on. There are a number of websites that I have found helpful in planning so that I manage my time and house. I can share those with you if you’d like. I might just be overwhelmed myself as I can’t remember if we have met before somewhere online. :p That is so cool that your youngest daughter is named Joyce. It’s always fun to find someone with the same name, as there aren’t that many Joyces out there. 🙂 Let me know what else I can do to help…or maybe I can blog about something specific that would be helpful for you.
I used to read fiction constantly, and almost never do anymore. I miss it so much! I was determined to read only fiction on our recent vacation. It was heavenly! I brought 5 or 6 books (LOL!) and managed to finish two. We had long flights so I figured I’d be reading for hours on them; instead I slept almost the whole way, both directions! “Quiet” is a book I have thought about picking up. One of my struggles is that I am a serious introvert, and this definitely impacts my writing. I find myself writing and writing, but not publishing. I also get very very tired by social media (it’s so noisy!) I wonder if this may have something to do with being an introvert. But being an introvert is what spurred me to get up early in the first place. Without my early mornings I’d have no time alone. Rambling away today…
Patti, you’re right about social media being noisy, but what a great avenue for us introverts to be social without the extra effort of having to open our mouths. :p It does fuel me to be around people and we always the first to invite people over to our house, but afterwards, I have to retreat.
