Review and Giveaway: Dayspring Back-to-School Supplies and U-NEEKS

GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED.

So, it’s that time of year again – Back to School. Or in our case, NOT Back to School. 🙂 We officially started homeschooling this year. I know! Who’d have thought?

Melody has been talking about best friends lately. I guess that’s what 5-year-olds talk about. The girl that Melody has known the longest already has a best friend because the girl has known her BFF longer than she’s known Melody.Melody was left with the dilemma of finding a new BFF. :p I know, the drama! I said, “What about Jesus?” to see what she would say. Her answer? No, Jesus can’t be my best friend, He’s already my best best best best friend. I love that at such a young age, she gets it. Even if the world fails us, He is there. He can be your Best Friend too. And you know what? She’s not afraid to proclaim it.  No, she doesn’t have all the answers to life’s hard questions. But isn’t that what faith is? Trusting in what you do not see. She really isn’t shy at all about talking to just anyone about Jesus or God or Heaven.

How blessed our children would be if they have a reminder with them as they study, whether at home or school, that Jesus is their BFF, or that Forever is in our future! Dayspring is giving our readers a chance to win the pack of back-to-school supplies with that exact message.

———————————

After nap, I told the girls FedEx brought a little something for them from Dayspring.

Back to school supplies, a plush & some cards! They’re trying to decide who gets what. :p

Melody has already used 2 of the cards to write notes to her friends. And since we started school, she has also used one of the notebooks for her school work. She likes that she can tear out the pages if needed. And the binders will be perfect for the calendar binders that I will be putting together for both girls. Once our homeschool group starts up again, I am sure that Melody will be bringing putting the folder into her backpack for all the papers that she will be bringing home. 🙂 Dweeber, the plush, has found a home in our stuffed animals box and has been pulled out a few times a week to be played with. We have so many stuffed animals (again!) that I’m wondering if the girls might find a new home for some of them where they are needed more.

GIVEAWAY time!!
If you haven’t purchased your back-to-school stuff yet, or if you need more back-to-school stuff, this is your lucky day! Dayspring is giving away this exact package to one of our readers. Giveaway ends Sunday, August 26 at 11:59pm. This offer is only for US residents.

  1. Hi!!! I can’t believe I have forgotten to read your blog! I saw your post on fb about this giveaway! Yay! Anyway- Sophie started pre-school this year. She’ young but I think it was best for BOTH of us that she start. It’s scary, both knowing she’s going to be on her own and the fact that she’s growing up in front of my eyes. I worry at times that she will be bullied or teased, or maybe she will be the bully or a million other common “mom” fears. And then, at the perfect time I saw this: http://momastery.com/blog/2012/08/23/the-talk/ I was blown away. This is fabulous to read with her every year and hopefully with each year more of these morals stick inside her little head 🙂 It gave me peace and hope that this is the kind of kid she will be. The brave and kind one.

    • Aleyta, I totally know what you mean by mom fears!…sometimes fast forwarding to those teenage years. Thanks for sharing the link. When we had Melody my MIL gave us a list of things to pray over our children. It helps to know that He is in control even when we can’t be/aren’t.

  2. My favorite back-to-school memory was when I was younger. Every year before school started, my aunt used to mail us a huge box of Sanrio things. It was great to start the school year off with so many cute things. I was thinking of doing something similiar with my kids each year, though on a much, much smaller scale– like just one new thing. =)

  3. My girls are still young (4.5 & 2), but we will be attending a parents co-op preschool this fall. So this is our very first back-to-school! And we’re also doing some homeschooling (since the preschool is only once a week), so had to get lots of supplies. It was a brand new experience for mommy.

    • Kat, How fun to be doing a co-op and homeschooling. We didn’t have much when we were growing up, but it was always fun to choose a few new things at the beginning of a new school year. 🙂 There’s something about a fresh notebook and a new sharped pencil. :p

  4. I grew up in a family without a lot of money. We always got new socks and undies with school supplies. I remember it being a very exciting time.
