A few weeks ago I had a MOPS networking event to attend in Pleasanton. I got a ride out to Valley Bible Church. After Norm and the girls finished breakfast, Norm took the girls to Barnes and Noble in Dublin to get their prize for finishing the summer reading program there. They actually finished weeks ago, we just never got a chance to go to B&N. It is super easy, and you probably still have time to do it!
3 Simple Steps:
Step 1. Read 8 books and record them in the reading journal.
Step 2. Bring the completed Reading Journal to your local B&N store.
Step 3. Choose a FREE BOOK from their list.
I don’t think they had all the titles that were listed, so Melody got Fancy Nancy: Fancy Day in Room 1A, and Emily got Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked: Too Cool for Rules. :p
After they picked me from the meeting, we went to Togo’s for lunch. The girls got free kids’ meals with the coupons from the summer reading game at the CV library. 🙂
How cool!! I wanted to do the summer reading thing with the boys, but then got distracted by all our play dates. haha! I’m kidding…I just needed someone else to blame for my laziness.
Jodi, Do the San Leandro one with the boys. It’s even simpler!! Seriously, sign up, read 10 books, get the stamps! For the B&N one, you have write down who they recommend the books to.
Kaitlyn got the Fancy Nancy one from Barnes and Nobles too. =)
Did you get the $5 gift certificate from Half Price Books too?
Hillary, book twins!! We didn’t do the HPB one yet. The girls have definitely read way more than enough minutes to do it though…just have to fill in the sheet though. :p There was one day when Melody read for almost 2 hrs! Total bookworm like me.
