What can I say about this week except that it was different and full! 🙂 We took a mini-road trip after Melody’s field trip with our homeschool group. Since we were south in Gilroy anyhow, we decided to just go west to Monterey afterwards, and swing by Santa Cruz on the way home. It was fun but exhausting few days. The day after our trip we hit the road again for Melody’s charter school orientation in Modesto which is one hour away. And word on the street is that there is a wedding coming up this weekend, so that’s where we will be. 🙂 We hope to return with a full recap of our fun trip and reviews of the yummy places we visited and ate at. Anyone else travel over the long-weekend?

Woo hoo! Sounds like fun. Are you saying your girl will have a one-hour commute to school? Wow.
I did travel… went down to Austin to participate with my DIL in a short relay triathlon. Stressful but fun! (I blogged about it).
Jan, No 1-hour commute. I hate commuting as I’ve done that before from across the Bay to San Francisco. Not cool at all! We are homeschooling but enrolling her with the charter school so that she is in the school system. So actually, it’s a no commute for school. 🙂
Why does a short relay triathlon sound not-so-short to me? :p
Glad to hear you are homeschooling! I can tell your girls will thrive — after all, they already are. BTW, my nephew is working for the summer at Chevron, more or less in San Francisco. It’s his internship for the engineering program at Texas A&M. Don’t tell, but I’m going to send him and In-n-Out gift card since CA doesn’t have Whataburger, our favorite chain.
I have friends who have been working at Chevron since college graduation (wow! 10 yrs ago!!). Let me know if he needs recommendations for restaurants or sightseeing in SF, etc. Love In-n-Out. We also have Five Guys here which is similar and I think it’s big on the East Coast? And I just heard that they are opening up Chick-fil-A here soon. I think that’s similar, right? :p
Hm, We have Five Guys Burgers & Fries around Dallas & Ft. Worth. Do you really not have a Chick-fil-A in your area yet? You’ll love them.
Yes, pretty much all I talk about is food!
We didn’t travel over the long weekend, but got together with family on Sunday for a BBQ. I am looking forward to Summer. I’ve got a library schedule and the kids want to follow the reading program. So we’ll go to the library at least once a week. I also want to come up with a light “lesson plan” to keep their minds fresh that is age appropriate for each of the kids. Maybe some science projects or math fun. The kids like brain teasers so maybe we’ll have a brain teaser of the week too. 🙂
Have a great time at the wedding. I can’t wait for next weekend. As an added bonus my BIL has gotten us a room at the Davenport Hotel where the wedding is taking place, so we can have one kid free night together! The kids will stay with friends there in Spokane. It will be so nice to relax, just the two of us!
