Wow, where did the year go? Only 2 more weeks left. I can’t believe it. We are enjoying all the holiday festivities and activities. We had a little rain yesterday (sprinkling mostly, I think it rained before we woke up), and I’m not sure if there is more to come, but I’m okay if it doesn’t come until after all the get-togethers. We had a couple of stay-home days this week, mainly because on Monday I thought we would be out all week, and then Melody hurt her hand and didn’t feel like going out, and then we got a late start yesterday and I had a bunch of chores to do. It’s been nice to just sit and craft together. The girls are enjoying all the sights and sounds of the season. How about you? What do you like to see or hear during the Christmas season?

  1. Aw, so sorry Melody hurt her finger, hopefully it will feel better soon! Looks like a great date night, I kinda want to go to that place, but it might be a little far to commute! 🙂 Love the gingerbread house, so cute! We will be doing sugar cookies sometime this week! The kids LOVE the decorating part!

Hope you have a great weekend, enjoy all the festivities!

  2. I have never done a gingerbread house…I know, I know…I deprived my kids…:0) Your daughters are just darlin’ as usual….the pics of them doing their school work are so cute….you are so organized, even their crayons looked neatly put away. Thanks for praying Joyce….Ithink this Christmas is going to be very difficult.

  3. We are having a “staycation” here at home for Winter break, but plenty of family coming for Christmas, and then our traditional get together with friends for New Years weekend. I plan to just hang out with the kiddos in between. This afternoon we’re making Christmas Cookies when their dad gets home.

Blessings and Peace to you and your family this season,
    Melissa

  4. O yum! I’m always hungry after a stroll through your photos! We are doing our gingerbread houses this weekend…always fun! I realized that I missed visiting here last week…sorry about that! Merry Christmas, and blessings for a wonderful New Year!

  5. During my Christmas season I like to watch “A Charlie Brown Christmas’ which I have loved beyond reason since it first aired back in the olden days. 🙂 I also like to watch the original “A Christmas Carol” in black and white (Alister Sims version) and it just isn’t the Christmas season unless I hear Nat King Cole on the radio singing the Christmas Song. 🙂 LOL.

It’s a quiet Christmas for me this year. My youngest son will be coming over for dinner on Sunday but outside of that, it’s just me. Trying hard not to get mopey over my first empty nest holiday season so I may go and help my neighbor at her church early Christmas when they feed the homeless. Will be putting up a few lights this afternoon, but no tree. A big wreath and my favorite Nativity will serve as the focus of my holiday decorations.

Much love to you and the girls. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas and thanks for the times you stopped by and left encouraging words at my blog.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
