This week was not too eventful at all, thus the lack of photos. I still have a tickle in my throat that just won’t go away….any tips? I was well enough, however, to make it to our MOPS steering team Christmas party yesterday. Thank you to the best husband (who insisted I go…it was that kind of day…) who did the bedtime routine with the girls and even got them to sleep before I got home!! We had too much fun with our gift exchange and thanks to Leisa for opening up your beautiful!!! home to us.
This morning we will be semi-crashing our homeschool group field trip. =p Melody is not old enjoy to join in the workshop with the group, but we have free passes from the summer reading program…actually, Emily is free since she is under 3, but Norm and I have to pay. It should be fun. Anyone else crashing homeschool group field trips this weekend? =p hehe

Sorry you haven’t been feeling well! Hope you get over the last of it soon! And I’m thrilled you got to go to the Christmas party…sometimes mommas just NEED that time! 🙂 No field trips for us this weekend, we are headed to Nashville tomorrow for a wedding! Have a great weekend!
Crashing a field trip sounds like fun, but I would have to borrow a child or two in order not to look like a weirdo…Hope that you get better soon. Don’t you just hate the kind of cold that lingers just that little bit? Your thankful tree is darling – and how precious that the girls want to continue it!
Sorry to hear you’re still feeling a little under the weather. Have you tried Coke? You boil some in a pot. Then drink it! It’s very soothing to the throat. You could also add lemon and/or honey to it. Any kind of cola would work, but Coca Cola (Coke) works best. It’ll get your throat back to normal quickly. =)
Glad you’re feeling better Joyce….hope you enjoy the field trip. Thank the Lord for great husbands that free us up from responsibilities to get out and kick up our heels every once in awhile…it’s good to have a night out…glad you had a good time!
HI Joyce! Sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling under the weather. It’s never good when us moms aren’t feeling 100%.
Yes, Beth Moore has a conference for Siesta Scripture Memory Team. It’s in February. I haven’t been able to go yet. It’s free admission as long as you’ve participated for at least 22 of the scriptures, and you can quote (I think 10) of them to a buddy. It sounds like lots of fun, but I can’t afford airline tickets and hotel. She does it every other year…or at least that’s what she said at the beginning of this year.
Well, gotta go make dinner…have a great weekend!
Melissa
Correction…the conference is Jan. 20-21 2012! 🙂
Joyce, I always gargle with salt water when I get a tickly throat, but I just read the Coke tip above and that sounds yummier.
Hi Joyce! We have all had colds here, and we find Ginger tea works well: Grate some fresh ginger, squeeze two teaspoons of juice from the grated pulp. Put this in a mug and fill with boiling water. Add a tsp of honey(or to taste) and some fresh lemon juice. It works!
Your spice jars are amazing, way to save space!
Have a great week!
Sorry you’re not feeling 100% but glad you were able to get out to the party! I’m going to try the tips for the tickley throat – especially the coke trick…I usually have some around and it sounds kind of syruppy good. No field trips or anything here….just trying to finish up a couple of work projects and get some Christmas shopping done!
