So Thankful

Thanksgiving has passed and our Thanksgiving/Thankful (which name do you like better? Emily likes Thankful) Tree is completed. The girls are still asking to do the Tree every single day, so we are thinking up ways to continue tracking what we’re thankful for through the year (any ideas?).

This activity proved much easier for the girls than it was for us. They genuinely were so thankful for so much each and every day. Not that we weren’t thankful for things, but sometimes we just try to think of out-of-the-ordinary things to put down and forget the normal everyday things in our lives that we should be thankful for.

Here is the before and after of the tree.

This is a peek at some of the things we were thankful for. Some silly and fun, some “serious”…Most days we each got a leaf to write on and stick up. Other days (we didn’t color enough leaves) we thought of one thing that we were all thankful for that day.

Who wouldn’t be thankful for nail clippers? =p What are you thankful for today?

  1. That’s so neat Joyce!! What a great idea. I may have to copy in the future. 🙂

Sorry I haven’t been stopping in at the blog as much lately…life’s been crazy. 😦 But I love all your comments on my blog, thank you so much!

  2. One quarter in Bible class we made big raindrops and called them blessing drops. As we studied things to be thankful for during the quarter we would write it on the drops and hang them from the ceiling. You could do that on a smaller scale like your tree. Our memory verse for the quarter was James 1:17.
