Melody-ism: Act Up

I just came out of the bathroom after a shower, and I heard Melody telling Norm this…

“No, don’t tell Mommy.”
“I don’t want to tell Mommy I act up.”

And then later…

“I don’t want to trust and obey.”*

Now, how do I respond to that without cracking a smile? =p

Me: What happened when Mommy was in the shower?
Melody: I act up.
Me: Do you want to trust and obey? (trying my hardest not to laugh)
Melody: I don’t want to trust and obey.

Who says stuff like that? My girl.

*The phrase ‘trust and obey’ is from the refrain (see below) of the hymn by the same name.
You can hear it HERE.

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
